Rwanda's e-scrap investment pays off: first recycling plant now open (Recyling - Tuesday 5 December 2017) --- Rwanda's first e-scrap recycling facility was opened yesterday in Bugesera district, Eastern Province. A total of Rwf1.1 billion (About US$ 1.3 million) has been invested in the venture, which is said to represent a major step forward regarding sustainable waste management in the country while creating 'green' jobs. Footage of starving polar bear exposes climate change impact – video (The Guardian - Saturday 9 December 2017) -- Video filmed in the Canadian Arctic provides graphic evidence of the impact of climate change on polar bears in the region, showing an emaciated animal scrounging for food on ice-free land. The footage was recorded by the conservation group Sea Legacy during a late summer expedition in Baffin Island. Watch Video

Obama Appears at Mayors' Summit to Urge Action on Climate Change (EcoWatch - Thursday 7 December 2017) -- Former President Barack Obama appeared at a gathering of mayors from around the world in Chicago Tuesday to talk about climate change and encourage leaders to take action, according to the Associated Press.
