Belgium is 11th EU nation to sign Kigali (Cooling Post - Sunday 17 June 2018) -- The host country of the European Union, Belgium, has become the 38th nation to ratify the Kigali Amendment to phase down HFC refrigerants. After Bulgaria, which signed on May 1, Belgium becomes the 11th EU member state to sign the Kigali Amendment. Read more

Climate financing up by 28%, finds report (ESI Africa - Thursday 14 June 2018) -- Climate financing by the world’s six largest multilateral development banks (MDBs) rose to a seven-year high of $35.2 billion in 2017, up 28% on the previous year. The MDBs’ latest joint report on climate financing highlights that $27.9 billion, or 79% of the 2017 total, was devoted to climate mitigation projects that aim to reduce harmful emissions and slow down global warming.
