Rwanda Plans To Generate $1.5 Billion Annually From Minerals (Taarifa - Sunday, 28 October 2018) -- Rwanda’s export earnings from minerals are projected to reach $800 million by end of 2020, up from $399 million in 2017/18 Financial Year, according to Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB), with a projection to earn $1.5 billion in 2024. Rwanda holds Validation Workshop for NDC Partnership Plan (The Ministry of Environment - Thursday, 25 October 2018) -- The Government of Rwanda has held a validation workshop on the country’s NDC Partnership Plan. The event reviewed the important climate action document, which has been developed to foster local, regional and international collaboration in support of Rwanda’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). The NDC is the country’s climate action plan that guides its response to climate change through the Paris Agreement. Read More

Rwanda to launch 2018-2019 Tree Planting Season (The Ministry of Environment - Wednesday, 24 October 2018) -- The Ministry of Environment through the Rwanda Water and Forestry Authority (RWFA) will launch the 2018/19 Tree Planting Season and celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of National Tree Planting Day. The official ceremony will take place in Rebero Sector, Kicukiro District, on 27 October 2018 under the theme ‘Plant Trees for Health and Wealth’ during which participants will take part in community work (Umuganda).
