Rwanda to launch major green growth investment to strengthen climate resilience in Gicumbi District

The Government of Rwanda, through the Ministry of Environment and Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA), will launch the ‘Strengthening Climate Resilience of Rural Communities in Northern Rwanda’ project in Gicumbi District on 26 October 2019. This project, which is being financed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), will increase the district’s climate resilience and prepare residents for the impacts of climate change. It will also support the adoption of low carbon technologies and job creation.

Rwanda Green Fund avails funding for civil society organisations

The Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA) is pleased to announce its tenth call for proposals, which invites non-profit organisations to submit proposals for financial investment to implement projects that are contributing to sustainable development and climate resilience in Rwanda. 
 
The Fund will avail a maximum funding of US $200,000 for each project and the organisation applying for grant will be required to provide co-financing to demonstrate capacity for sustainability.

Rwanda Green Fund to sign Memorandum of Understanding with R20 to develop Pilot Smart Green Village

The Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 20 Regions of Climate Action (R20) of the Global Alliance for Smart Cities and Smart Villages in Africa (GASCA) tomorrow, October 10, 2019.
